Our English Team, congratulate Mariam Al-Farsi who is currently enrolled in the program courses about the excellent opportunity for further training and professional development as part of the broad partnership between the United States and the Sultanate of Oman .

MUSCAT: The US Embassy in Muscat recognised 10 Omani alumni and new participants in its E-Teachers Scholarship programme at a ceremony held on January 7. 
This new initiative provides English teaching professionals living outside the United States with the opportunity to take one of seven innovative, online, graduate-level courses offered by the University of Maryland, and the University of Oregon.  
During the ceremony, US Ambassador Richard J. Schmierer congratulated the E-teachers for their participation in the programme and presented them with certificates. 
“We are happy provide to Omani teachers with this excellent opportunity for further training and professional development as part of the broad partnership between the United States and the Sultanate of Oman,” said Ambassador Schmierer. 
Public Affairs Officer Patricia Attkisson welcomed the teachers and highlighted the significance of this programme in developing English-language teaching skills all the over the world.  
The event included an opening presentation on the E-Teacher Scholarship program, followed by presentations on using on-line course platforms, the US State Department Alumni website, and research methods and materials offered through the embassy’s Information Resource Centre.
Program alumni also shared their experiences with fellow teachers who are currently enrolled in the program courses.
